We build project management that does the planning
Alien Task came out of watching capable teams lose their week to the software meant to organize it. We thought the tool should absorb that work instead of delegating it back.
We lived the problem first
Before Alien Task, we were the team running projects across several companies at once, in tools that all failed the same way from opposite directions. The heavy ones needed an administrator. The light ones ran out of room by the third project. Both left the actual planning work — breaking a goal into tasks, assigning them, guessing dates, chasing updates — entirely to us.
We noticed something specific: the hard part was never tracking the work. It was the setup before tracking could begin, and the constant maintenance after. Every tool we tried treated that as the user's job.
Language models changed what was possible there. A system that understands a stated goal can produce the structure — tasks, subtasks, sequencing, owners, dates — in seconds. That is not a feature to bolt onto a project tool. It is a reason to build a different one.
So Alien Task starts where other tools ask you to begin: with the plan already written, and yours to change.
Four principles behind every decision
These are the trade-offs we make on purpose, including the capability we give up to make them.
Speed is a feature
Two-minute setup, instant status writes, and no loading spinner between you and the board. A tool people wait on is a tool people stop updating.
AI does the setup work
The copilot exists to remove the blank board, not to autocomplete task titles. It writes the structure you would otherwise build by hand — and you edit it freely.
Fewer surfaces, better made
Three views instead of thirty. Every configuration option we do not ship is a decision your team never has to revisit six months later.
Isolation by default
Running several companies should not mean several logins. Every workspace is separated at the data layer and switching takes one click.
Two products, one idea
