Terms of Service
The agreement governing your use of Alien Task. Last updated August 2026.
These terms govern access to and use of Alien Task, provided at alientask.io and app.alientask.io. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you are accepting on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
1. Open beta
Alien Task is currently offered as an open beta. The service is provided free of charge during this period, and features may change, be added, or be withdrawn as the product develops. Beta software may contain defects. We will give reasonable advance notice before introducing charges, and you may close your account at any time before any charge takes effect.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for keeping your credentials secure, and for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Workspace administrators
A person who creates a workspace administers it. Administrators control membership, assign roles, and can view and manage content within that workspace. If you join a workspace created by your employer or client, that organization's administrators may access content you contribute to it. Administrators are responsible for ensuring they have the right to place any data they upload into the service.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service unlawfully, or to store or distribute unlawful content.
- Attempt to access another workspace, account, or dataset you are not authorized to access.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service except under a disclosure process agreed with us in advance.
- Interfere with the service's operation, including through excessive automated requests.
- Upload malicious code, or content that infringes the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.
- Resell or provide the service to third parties except through normal use of your own workspaces.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you place in Alien Task. You grant us the limited licence necessary to host, process, transmit, and display that content for the purpose of providing the service — including sending content you explicitly submit to an AI feature to our model provider to generate the response you requested. This licence exists only to operate the service and ends when the content is deleted.
6. Our intellectual property
Alien Task, including its software, interface, and branding, remains our property. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service and no other rights.
7. Availability
We aim to keep Alien Task available and performant, but during open beta we do not offer a contractual uptime commitment. Maintenance, incidents, and dependency failures may cause interruptions. We will communicate significant planned downtime in advance where practicable.
8. Termination
You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where these terms are breached, where required by law, or where continued use presents a security risk to the service or other customers. Where circumstances allow, we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy first.
9. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” during open beta without warranties of any kind. AI features generate suggestions and estimates, including delivery forecasts, that may be inaccurate or incomplete. They are decision support, not a substitute for your own judgement, and you remain responsible for the decisions you make using them.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, revenue, or data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be notified by email or in-product notice before taking effect. Continuing to use the service after that point constitutes acceptance.
